Mr William Turner MD FRCS (Urol)
Bill was an NHS consultant urologist at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge for over 25 years until September 2024 in an NHS career spanning more than 40 years.
He has very wide experience of general and sub-specialist adult urology based on a very busy clinical practice at Addenbrooke’s.
He trained in medicine, surgery in general and in urology, in Cambridge, Oxford, Berne and in Yorkshire. He has a Cambridge physiology and pharmacology research degree.
Clinical experience
- Elective and emergency general urology
- Former member and chair of the Addenbrooke’s Specialist Urology multidisciplinary team since its inception, with wide experience of urological oncology
- Bladder cancer in all aspects including very wide experience of surgery to remove the bladder (cystectomy) and subsequent urinary drainage, including bladder reconstruction
- Reconstructive urology, including female urology and the management of urinary incontinence

- Bond Solon-Cardiff University Expert Witness Certificate 2010
- Bond Solon Civil Procedure Rules Certificate 2014
- Bond Solon GDPR for Expert Witnesses Toolkit Certificate 2018
- Fulfils Bond Solon continual professional development requirements
- Acts in accordance with the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges 2019 guidance “Acting as an expert or professional witness – Guidance for healthcare professionals”, which is endorsed by the Royal College of Surgeons of England and is consistent to the standards and guidance of General Medical Council.
- Instructions for full CPR-compliant reports or short-form screening/overview reports are welcomed
- Has provided medicolegal reports for solicitors in civil cases since 2003.
- Has given oral evidence in court
